Mid-Atlantic Masonry Heat - Warms you like a hug
Tulikivi Soapstone Wood Fired Bakeoven
Tulikivi’s unique heater-bakeoven combinations allow for unsurpassed flexibility in meeting your baking and heating needs. The patented combination design employs two fireboxes each with different operational characteristics and purposes. Both fireboxes are able to operate on the same chimney flue, but only one firebox may be burned at a time.
The lower and larger heater firebox is primarily designed to heat the living space. Its larger size maximizes the amount of wood that can be burned at one time, more readily providing heat when needed. When the lower firebox is burned it will heat the upper bakeoven firebox to warming or slow cooking temperatures. For higher baking temperature a fire is burned directly inside the bakeoven firebox. After a fire is burned any remaining coals and ashes are pushed through a trap door inside the oven and dropped into the lower heater firebox.
By building a fire directly in the bakeoven it is possible to achieve high temperatures needed for baking pizzas and flat breads. Inside the bakeoven the humidity stays high, your food is baked evenly and does not tend to dry out as in a traditional convection oven.
When you prepare delicious oven baked dishes and pastries or when you want to surprise your guests with a special recipe, the excellent baking characteristics of a soapstone bakeoven help turn your dishes into culinary delights.
